It is with regret that we must announce the resignation of two of our board members. Stephen Brushey resigned as of Oct 6 and Tracey Watson resigned as of October 18. We will be holding a by-election on November 5 at 7 pm at the Port Loring Legion to fill the 2 seats on the board. Hope to see you all there!
The Community Centre is still closed and will remain closed until we receive a second opinion from a structural engineer as to what if anything needs to be done, and recommended work has been completed. Once the building has been deemed safe for public occupancy, the building will reopen. Currently, with the help of a couple of community members (thanks Tim Gherke), we are compiling a list of specifics that should be looked at by a structural engineer to determine the overall condition of the building and specifically the roof. When the list is completed it will be sent out to structural engineers requesting a written quote. These quotes will be presented and discussed at our next general public meeting. The process is long and complex but we are working on it! This message is in keeping with our determination to keep the community up to date on the status of the community centre and other concerns as they arise. ~Debbie Keetch Please remember, if you have any questions or concerns you can send an email to [email protected] and we will answer it as quickly as we can.
